Title
Overall energy balances : parasitic inputs & beneficial outputs
Description
Energy accounting needs to take into consideration all of the energy inputs and outputs from a process including direct and indirect energy requirements. Energy requirements can be linked directly to GHG emissions and other environmental impacts. Anaerobic digestion is an efficient process with dual outputs, direct energy in the form of biogas and a replacement for indirect energy in the form of digestate acting as mineral fertiliser replacement.
